An Adventure

Buddy and I went on an adventure today! And we may have found the perfect place to walk.

The story behind our adventure is that my grandmothers dog ran off, and Buddy and I volunteered to be her search party. Off we went to brave the wilds in search of the brat, without so much as a lick of gratitude when we found her. That was okay, though, because she wasn't the only thing we found! There is an entire road that is abandoned near my house, easy to walk to; And obviously easy to walk through. Other than the occasional bark of a far off dog and the whistles of birds, we were completely alone. It was awesome, and I think I've finally solved my problem of having nowhere to walk Buddy!

Do you see the little bugger,
waltzing up the driveway??

It's never a bad time to practice your down stay!

A driveway and little space were cleared out for
a new house, but left to grow up for unknown
reasons.
Investigating an irresistible smell.
The most recently abandoned house
I'm not too sure on the back story of this mass abandonment, but after talking with people.. I think it was a drug bust? A decade or two ago? Nobody in my family really seems to know, they just know what friends of friends of thrice-removed cousins have told them. Oh, well, it's a magnificent place to walk one's dog!

Jumping for Joy!

Buddy is jumping for joy to be back blogging! Okay, he's jumping for treats. Got bored today and decided to teach him a new trick; Jump! And boy, did he look cute doing it. I was a bit worried about teaching it to him, because I knew he could easily think that meant it was okay to jump at other times, and because I figured when I asked him to sit he would mistake it for jumping. So I had to make sure to use a very different hand signal for jump than I did sit. So now, his signal to jump is me moving my hand in a u shape from right to left, and his signal to sit is still me moving my hand over his head. He was quick to figure out what I wanted from him, and the difference in the two signals. I love how smart he is!

This could easily be my favorite
pic of him ever!

We're Back!

You have my apologies, folks, for my extended absence. Buddy has been very urgently wanting me to get back on the blogging ball, and I've decided it's been long enough of a break.

Buddy didn't know what to do without the blog
to report back to!
Not much has happened since this little hiatus began; We missed the CGC, though, because my brother and his wife finally had their baby. A beautiful, healthy little girl--my niece!

We also lost two of our littlest animal members; Both hamsters succumbed to a mystery disease within a few days of each other, despite many syringe feedings of apple sauce and water mixed, we couldn't save them.

Moving on from the dismal, you can expect daily postings to resume as usual tomorrow! (Today? It's 3:30 am. I don't even know why I'm awake right now. Think I'm gonna take Buddy for one last walk and go to sleep)

Hiatus

I think I'm going to take a break from writing. Too many things are going on right now; I lost my job because I passed out at work, the doctors don't know why I passed out, I'm having to adjust to family changes, I'm about ready to rip my hair out with stress. I'll try and post some pictures every day so you guys aren't left just hanging, but right now, I barely have the energy to get out of bed, let alone write. So hopefully I'll be feeling better in a few days. Keep your fingers crossed, anyways.

Weight and Play

So, I think Buddy's finally at a good weight! A good,  maintainable weight. I hope.

Stacked photo

And something that's helped with that--His enthusiasm for playing fetch!

And his fur continues to grow, not to mention that the parts that are already grown out are getting softer and shinier every day. Loving Taste of the Wild!!

Buddy's New Game

Buddy got to try out a new boredom busting game this morning; Find out which cup the treats are under.

Reader tip; The treats are always under the blue cup.
This was another thing Zukes Mini Naturals were perfect for, because they have a very weird noticeable smell.

At first he didn't get it.

""Why does she keep poking those things?""
Because I was trying to get you to notice them!

But after I wiggled the cup around a bit to let some of the smell waft out to him, he had his lightbulb moment, and from there it was all fun for him!

Round 1

Your guess is as good as mine as to why
he chose to push it off the back when
it was already hanging off the front. ???

Round 2

""Is that all?""
